Reminder – Hazardous Material Shipping Paper Sequencing
November 5, 2018 |
PMCI has received a series of member inquiries about hazardous material shipping paper sequencing over the last few weeks. As a reminder, in 2013, a DOT issued final rule became effective which changed the appropriate hazardous material product description that must be placed on shipping papers for petroleum products. Under the new requirement, the hazardous material identification number must be entered first, followed by the product shipping name. A recent reminder from PMAA details the appropriate product descriptions to be placed on hazardous material shipping papers. PMCI has shipping papers available to members enrolled in our 24-hour emergency response program partnership with Infotrac.
