FDA to Announce Sweeping Ban of Certain E-Cigarette Products at Convenience Stores
November 13, 2018 |
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to announce a sweeping ban on the sales of certain e-cigarette products sold at convenience stores. The agency is expected to publicize its plan as early as next week, which targets convenience stores (not other tobacco retailers) in their effort to crack down on the underage usage of vapor products.
Convenience stores have prided themselves on being the responsible gatekeepers of such products and being leaders in age verification and responsible retailing. It is important to reach out to Iowa members of Congress and the FDA to explain the vital role your store(s) play in selling legal products responsibly.
To contact your member of Congress, please phone at the numbers listed below and/or email or fax a letter. A sample letter is available to help you communicate your concerns.
