USDA Announces Intent to Release Obligated HBIIP Funds
Today, United States Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced USDA’s intent to release obligated funding under the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) for 543 projects totaling $537 million in 29 states. This includes new projects approved within the first 100 days of the Trump Administration.
FUELIowa is grateful for the efforts of Iowa Senator Joni Ernst and her team along with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and her team in advocating for the importance of HBIIP funds for Iowa’s small business fuel retailers as they seek to expand offerings of high-blend biofuels. In total, Iowa has approximately 275 projects impacted by the federal freeze on funding through programs like the USDA HBIIP program.
FUELIowa members are encouraged to contact USDA Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program Manager Jeff Carpenter to determine if your project meets the USDA’s definition of obligated and whether your project funding is subject to this release. Jeff can be reached at jeff.carpenter@usda.gov or by phone at 402-437-5554.
