New Skimming Connection

Nationally, weights and measures inspectors are on the front line in the retail petroleum industry’s battle against criminals intent on stealing consumer’s proprietary payment card information.  As industry adjusts to the threat of skimming devices, so to do the criminals placing these devices at retail motor fuel outlets.  The photo represents a new trend seen lately by weights and measures inspectors.  Criminals are bypassing the common connection location at the actual card reader pin connector. These are being installed on the inner data cable behind a secondary door to the pump. These devices are Bluetooth enabled as well.
