Iowa DNR Accepting Annual Tank Renewals Beginning December 10, 2018

Iowa DNR will begin accepting Annual Tank Renewals for all regulated underground storage tanks beginning December 10, 2018.  Renewal is required for all regulated tanks with a capacity greater than 1100 gallons.  Underground tanks meeting this criterion should have a silver permanent tank tag affixed to the fillport.

Last year, Iowa DNR moved to an online renewal system in an effort to streamline and simplify the tank renewal process for owners and operators.  The new online registration system allows owners and operators to update site information, including changes in A & B operator status for your facility.  Additionally, the new online registration system allows for owners and operators to complete Annual Tank Renewals for multiple sites at once. 

A username and password are required to access the Iowa DNR registration system.  Following the renewal of tanks located at your facility, the annual tank management fee of $65 per compartment is due by January 15, 2019.  Credit/Debit cards are not accepted online.  Owners may pay online via eCheck or print completed forms and mail a check.  The Iowa DNR online renewal program can be accessed by clicking here.  A frequently asked questions (FAQ) section and user guide are also available to help guide you through the registration process.
