FUELIowa Member Wins Iowa Senate Seat

A special election was held on Tuesday in District 41 to replace U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks in the Iowa State Senate. FUELIowa member and business owner Adrian Dickey was elected with 5,040 votes, while Democrat Mary Stewart finished with 4,074 otes. FUELIowa released the following statement on Senator-elect Dickey’s victory:

We are confident that Iowa Senate District 41 is in good hands. Senator-elect Dickey has been a champion for his local community and the fuel industry for over 25 years, and we’re confident that he will carry over that leadership in the State Senate.” - FUELIowa President and CEO Ronald Langston.

Senator-elect Dickey has been the president of Dickey Transport in Packwood, Iowa since 1995. The transportation company was started by Dickey’s grandfather and has been operating since 1959. Dickey Transport now employs 100 Iowans and consists of a fleet of 75 trucks. FUELIowa looks forward to working with Senator-elect Dickey along with the rest of the Iowa legislature this year.
