Cent A Gallon Day benefit for Camp Courageous a big success again this year!

PMCI members and friends honored the tradition of donating one cent for every gallon sold on the day before Thanksgiving to Camp Courageous. This year, the Cent-A-Gallon campaign raised over $22,000 for the camp. When combined with the $31,000 raised at the PMCI Golf Event, the 2017 total has now reached $53,000!

“We are grateful for PMCI’s support with this fund raiser and all that they do year-round to make Camp Courageous touch so many lives.” Said Charlie Becker, Executive Director of the camp. “A special thank you goes out to Jet Gas, Larry Bentler and friends who continue to be incredible partners. Larry has carried on the wonderful legacy of his father, LeRoy, who was among the first Petroleum Marketers to visit the camp. LeRoy Bentler was part of the board that chose to take Camp Courageous under the PMCI wing in 1981.”

Established in 1972, the camp continues to serve individuals with disabilities with respite care and now serves over 7,000 campers year-round. PMCI is proud to continue the tradition of helping Camp Courageous accomplish its mission.

“All people, regardless of ability level, have the right to opportunities found in the world around them. Individuals with disabilities, as well as their families, should experience year-round recreational and respite care activities in a camp setting. Camp Courageous of Iowa provides this needed service to all. “
