2019 Underground Storage Renewal Now Available Online

Beginning on December 10, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Underground Storage Tank Section (IA DNR UST) started accepting 2019 underground storage tank (UST) renewals through their online portal. The IA DNR UST section requires an annual tank management fee of $65 per compartment to be paid annually. The annual tank management fee is due by January 15, 2019.
The IA DNR UST online portal allows owner/operators the ability to pay tank management fees online via eCheck with no convenience fee attached. Owner/operators may also print their completed forms from the portal and send them via US mail along with a check to the IA DNR UST Section. Unfortunately, credit cards are not accepted at this time.
The online portal allows owner/operators to renew multiple sites at once while also affording the flexibility to update and save contact information. Owner/operators can update A/B operator training information via the portal or attach documentation required to be submitted to the IA DNR UST Section.
Users will be required to enter the username and password as set up during the 2018 online renewals. Owner/operators that did not renew online last year will need to create an account. The IA DNR UST Section’s Frequently Asked Questions Document can assist owner/operators with creating an account. An Online Renewal User Guide is also available to assist owner/operators. Additionally, owner/operators should be prepared to have on hand the registration number for their site or the city where it is located along with a current copy of your financial responsibility documentation. PMMIC insureds do not need to submit this documentation.
