Allocate Funding to E15 Fueling Infrastructure
FUELIowa urges the allocation of resources to assist retailers with access to grant monies to install equipment compatible with E15. Compatible equipment is necessary to legally and safely store and dispense higher blends of ethanol to support Iowa's ag economy.
Fuel Quality Testing and Inspection
In the interest of ensuring that the fuels supplied in Iowa for distribution to Iowa customers meet or exceed quality standards, the Iowa legislature allocated funds to provide for fuel quality sampling and testing services (Iowa Code 455G.3(7)a) at pipeline terminals and biofuel production facilities. The collection of fuel quality samples is performed by the Iowa Department of Agriculture’s Weights and Measures Division. The legislature also appropriated monies toward the development of the Iowa Central Community College Fuel Testing Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Don Heck to carry out the testing on samples collected by the Department (Iowa Code 214A.2B).
